Green INITIATIVES

Senso Group Waste Management was honored to be invited to participate in the 2018 Carassauga festival. In doing so we raised a challenge. We proposed a challenge to all of the festivals vendors and visitors. We challenged them see how much recyclable material we can divert from the landfill. Multiple bins we set up. Cardboard Only, Co-mingled Recyclables, and Mixed Waste. In our first year of this challenge Senso Group along with the Festival managed to divert %25 of the waste out of the landfill. With this, 22 hours of operation, seeing over 400,700 visitors. 76 Metric tonnes of waste generated this year.

Carassauga organizes an annual 3 day festival of cultures across the City of Mississauga. It was created in response to a challenge put out by Mayor Hazel McCallion to all ethno-cultural groups at a meeting of her calling in the old City Hall in the fall of 1985. Since then it has grown and in 2018 it featured 4,921 Performers supported by 6,395 volunteers, for more information please visit. https://www.carassauga.com/
